Express Employment Professionals of Brighton/Howell is searching for an experienced and professional Staff Accountant to fill a Direct-Hire position with a premier manufacturer located in New Hudson. Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 (Depending on Experience) + Benefits Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm/Monday - Friday Offers the ability to work remotely 1-2 days per week Staff Accountant Core Function: Under direction from the Controller, manage the accounting and bookkeeping activities for all companies. Instill discipline, accountability, and best practices in pursuit of improved quality, cost, delivery, performance, and employee relations. Duties and Responsibilities: Sets an example to other employees by means of arriving promptly and on schedule, maintaining a neat and organized work area, and maintaining a personal calendar, journal, and task list Responds to supervision in all aspects relating to quality Confidential accounting processing Ensure the proper accumulation of costs into the various jobs in progress Payroll processing with the cooperation of the Admin Assistant Absolute confidentiality relating to employee's compensation and banking information Maintain withholding tax tables (federal, state, and local) Weekly entry into the accounting system and direct deposit processes Payroll tax administration: weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and payments Annual reconciliation and distribution of W-2s and 1099s 401K administration: annual reporting and record maintenance Accounts Payable processing: posting, tracking, collating, filing, disputes Accounts Receivable processing: invoicing and expediting payments, collections Accounting software and hardcopy file maintenance: Payroll files (personnel), Tax and benefit files, Vendor and customer files, and Chart of Accounts Commission calculations (as required) Maintain cash-flow spreadsheets Provide month end financials for review by the 15th of the following month Develop miscellaneous spreadsheets for efficient information processing Support strategic and financial planning under the supervision of Controller Support management in developing such additional systems and reports as may be necessary Telephone reception (as required), screening, routing and message taking Human Resources tasks: New Hire processing and orientation Maintain knowledge with regard to all benefit plans Resolve any/all questions and issues for all employees Maintain employee personnel files Coordinate updates of employee profiles Maintain annual review process for all employees Process employee updates and terminations Ensure Federal, State and OSHA mandated posters are current Qualifications: College degree in business management, accounting and/or finance Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel Experience with accounting software such as SAP, ERP, QuickBooks, etc. At least 1 year of staff accountant work experience APPLY TODAY WE ARE HIRING NOW Please submit your resume to
