Vision Research is a Business Unit in the Materials Analysis Division of AMETEK, Inc. Vision Research manufactures industry leading high-speed digital cameras. Our cameras are primarily sold into industrial, academic, defense and government research facilities. We also have a smaller entertainment oriented camera business. Although not our primary focus, Vision Research has received both an Academy Award and an Emmy for our technical contribution to the entertainment industry. To learn more about Vision Research, Phantom cameras and to get a good idea of the type of images we can collect please go to Senior Accountant, Vision Researchwill be responsible for daily accounting functions for the business. This includes following accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. This position must operate with a degree of autonomy and manage tight deadlines.Support month end closing activities ensuring accurate financial results and requirements are completed within corporate timelines. This includes preparation of journal entries and update of associated HFM plete general ledger account reconciliations monthly, including reconciliation of ERP to HFM reported balances. Account reconciliations include inventory, accruals, prepaids, unbilled/deferred revenue and fixed assets. Proactively investigate and resolve reconciling items.Drive cost accounting activities.Daily reporting and analysis of PPV and other inventory transactionAnalysis of cost of goods sold, work orders and manufacturing variances.Support operations team with the annual standard cost update and physical inventory.Ensure SOX compliance requirements. Includes timely and accurate completion of account reconciliations and support of revenue recognition testing.Oversee tracking of capital purchases and related fixed asset accounting requirements, includes managing the annual inventory of fixed assets. .Reconciliation of intercompany balances and coordination with AMETEK entities.Support daily orders and sales reporting, includes reconciliation of revenue and participation in weekly ship schedule meetings.Preparation of tax reporting terface with internal audit services and external auditors as required.Assist in quarterly (MD&A) reporting process.Support Finance Manager and BU Controller as needed with other duties/projects.Proactive driver of finance continuous improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and pensationSalary Minimum: MarketSalary Maximum: MarketIncentive:Disclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
