Vacancy Announcement Position Information Campus Title Compliance Officer Department Finance & Administration Position Summary SUNY Geneseo is seeking an energetic, part-time Compliance Officer in the Division of Finance and Administration. Under the guidance of the VP for Finance & Administration, the Compliance Officer will serve as the campus internal control and compliance officer, leading initiatives in support of risk management and compliance matters. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and be responsible for coordinating internal and external audits and reviews. The candidate will work with faculty/staff/students on campus and with SUNY System regulatory contacts and external parties as needed. Flexible hybrid work arrangements may be an option subject to NYS , SUNY , and Geneseo rules, regulations, and policies. Required Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Minimum of 2 years of professional related experience Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with SUNY and New York State finance and regulatory systems. MBA or Master degree and/or Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) preferred. Quick Link for Postings Job Duties/Responsibilities Job Duties/Responsibilities Percentage Of Time 30 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 1: Serves as the campus internal control and compliance officer and campus lead coordinator responsible for risk management and compliance matters. Responsible for leading campus compliance training(s). Percentage Of Time 30 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 2: Oversees and is responsible for and key contact for SUNY and Federal audits (annual OSC Advisory No. 28 - Certification of Internal Controls Over the Payment Process, annual Internal Control Audit) and coordinating ongoing Internal Controls Vulnerability Assessments. Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 3: Serves as a key liaison with System Administration and other State internal control officials and departments, including serving as a primary contact with SUNY Counsel. Also works as a key team member on FOIL responses. Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 4: Reviews non-standard agreements and MOUs for appropriateness with campus and SUNY System representatives to ensure compliance. Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 5: Serves on SUNY Geneseo's Risk Management, Internal Control, CAS Audit, College Assessment, Cleary Audit, Information Security, and Incident Management committees/teams. Percentage Of Time 10 Job Duty/ Responsibility Function 6: Responsible for staying abreast of relevant privacy laws, including HIPAA , FERPA , FTC regulations, and various state and international data privacy laws as they continue to change.
