The Counselor is responsible for providing clinical services and interventions that support overall health and wellbeing. They offer opportunities for clients to gain knowledge and skills to promote individual growth and sustained recovery from addiction within the framework of BriteLife Recovery's philosophy and objectives. Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Counselor will facilitate group therapy sessions and will collaborate closely with other members of the clinical team. What tasks are required? Independently facilitate group therapy sessions. Document all services provided in the EMR within prescribed timeframes. Demonstrate knowledge of the six dimensions of ASAM and produce clinical documentation reflecting client functioning in each of the dimensions, as indicated. Participate actively and meaningfully in multidisciplinary team meetings, as assigned. Provide crisis intervention services to clients, as needed. Maintain a professional presentation that is consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of BriteLife Recovery. Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards and guidelines.Ability to assess, plan, and deliver services to individuals in need of substance abuse treatment. Ability to assess, plan, and deliver services to individuals in need of substance abuse treatment. Ability to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, and withdrawal symptoms. Ability to screen for danger to self or others. Ability to screen for co-occurring mental health issues. Ability to analyze and interpret data to determine treatment recommendations and priorities. Knowledgeable of counseling theories and techniques. Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct. Participation in continuing Professional Development. Knowledge of strategies for treating alcohol and other drug abuse. Knowledge of medication-assisted therapy. Knowledge of accepted principles of client record management. Performs other duties, as assigned. What we need from you? Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health related field required. Working towards licensure and/or drug and alcohol certification. Demonstrated computer proficiency. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health related field strongly preferred. Drug and alcohol certification through state board (CASAC, CADC, CAADC, ADC, AADC or equivalent) strongly preferred. Professional clinical license (LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT or equivalent) strongly preferred. Experience in substance use disorders treatment strongly preferred.
