The School of Graduate & Continuing Studies at Alfred University is delighted to announce a search for a full-time tenure track position in our CACREP accredited Mental Health and School Counseling programs. We are seeking a candidate to begin in August of 2025 at the Assistant Professor level. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000, depending on experience. We seek motivated, enthusiastic applicants with a good sense of humor, strong interpersonal skills, and the potential for excellence in teaching, supervising, and mentoring the next generation of professional counselors. Responsibilities: Specific duties will include teaching: Scholarship/research Professional activity University service Supervision of masterlevel students, with a particular focus on those enrolled in the School Counseling program The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses (9 credits per semester) Supervising graduate students' field-based experiences Collaborating with district schools and/or local community agencies And maintaining a consistent and sustained record of peer-reviewed scholarship Faculty will be expected to participate in a collegial manner in the life of the University through participation in program, division, school, and university service Qualifications: Qualified applicants will have a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and be appropriately credentialed ( or eligible for credentialing) for practice in New York State Preference will be given to candidates with a school counselor identity ABD candidates will be considered About The Program: The Counseling program is part of Alfred University's School of Graduate & Continuing Studies, which is comprised of three divisions: Counseling & School Psychology (CSP), which houses on-campus graduate programs, AUNY, which houses graduate and undergraduate extension programs in Corning, NY and the Greater NYC area, and The Lea R. Powell Institute for Children and Families. The CSP division contains programs in School Counseling (MSEd/CAS), Mental Health Counseling (MSEd/CAS), School Psychology (MA/CAS/PsyD), and College Student Development (MSEd). Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A respiratory function test and the ability to use respirators may be required. Stairs and uneven surfaces may be present; artificial lifts, etc. may or may not be available. The position may require the incumbent to walk outdoors in all types of weather to other buildings or offices located on the campus.
