Division:Turner Surety & Insurance BrokerageProject Location(s):USAMinimum Years Experience:5Travel Involved:20-30%Job Type:RegularJob Classification:ExperiencedEducation:Bachelors DegreeJob Family:Insurance and ClaimsCompensation:Salaried ExemptPosition Description: Manageand oversee clients' disputes and related claims within assigned region,including but not limited to auto, general liability, builders' risk,professional liability, and pollution.Reports to: Reports to a Managing Director in the brokerage.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manage and ensure claims within assigned region are reported in timely manner to applicable insurance carriers, and delegate or prepare claim documentation and report claim directly to applicable insurance carriers as applicable.Engage with Operations, Safety, and/or Legal teams to ensure initial investigation is conducted and documented via written report; determine and immediately assign third-party incident investigator as necessary.Participate in crisis response team activities within assigned region and assigned clients; provide guidance on steps to strategically manage crisis and claim processes.Direct claims specific carrier to ensure timely assignment of Claims Specialist.Create, maintain, and collect files for all claims records and documentation and within Claims Management System.Oversee flow of documentation and/or claim submission from client to carrier, per standard operating procedures for each claim type.Oversee payments from carrier to relevant party/parties, per standard operating procedures for each claim type.Analyze loss data for claim settlement and reserves and make recommendations to senior and/or client leadership.Prepare periodic reports, such as loss or benchmark reports, as directed using data management systems.Oversee settlement of claims up to permitted settlement authority, escalate to Director, Claims as needed.Partner with Regional Director to participate in selection of Legal representation for claim, as necessary.Lead litigation oversight, strategy, and direction with clients' leadership and Legal department for assigned claims, as needed.Review legal strategy and documents produced for litigation and mediation statements for assigned claims.Attend trials, mediations, and arbitrations for assigned claims, as required.Participate in and advise on clients' safety, environmental, operations, and/or legal meetings.May manage team of claimsprofessionals, provide direction of work, assign claims, and serve as escalation point for Claims Analysts and Claims Coordinators.Deliver timely performance feedback to Claims team and execute and/or contribute to performance appraisals during annual performance cycle.Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from accredited program in Business, Insurance, or Risk Management, and minimum of 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experienceExperience and comprehension of auto, general liability, builders' risk, professional liability, and pollution claims processesComprehension ofclient contracts, insurance policies, and claimsdocuments and practicesFamiliar with State and local jurisdiction insurance and claims regulationsOSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) knowledge and experience desired; OSHA 30-hour certification, a plusConstruction industry or related risk management experience,highly preferredNegotiation and influencing skillsProcess and critical thinking skills with sound judgement decision-makingAnalytical and adept at processing and breaking down data into actionable informationSelf-starter with project management skills and capable of managing concurrent complex projects and tasks successfully to completionInterpersonaland teambuildingskills with ability to work acrossorganizational levels, both internal and externalProfessionalwritten and verbal communication, and effective presentationskillsProficient incomputer skills,Microsoft suite of applications, MS Outlook, and insurance-based risk management information systemsOrganizationalmanagement skills,capable ofmanaging and developingremote teamsLimited travel: travel modes include air, train, vehiclePhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
