Accountable for supervising the Distribution Center, managing the ongoing operation and logistical process of the supply chain to maximize productivity, assure customer satisfaction and maintain quality standards and safety. Expectations & Accountabilities... Manage and oversee all operations of the Distribution Center, monitoring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of inventory. Manage inventory levels (safety stock) to coincide with forecast. Supervise shipping and receiving. Oversee maintenance of facility and equipment, for example, forklifts. Assure optimum physical layout and full utilization of staff. Continuously evaluate inbound demand, distribution workload and schedule. Direct and manage staff; select, hire, train, coach and counsel; assure performance and morale. Apply and implement Lean manufacturing principles to projects/processes and motivate employees to maximize efficiency. Control inventory via warehouse management system (SAP). Assure compliance with related federal, state and local regulations; assure the implementation of internal company safety policies and procedures. Provide customer service to all customers (internal and external). Assure effective and timely communications to fulfill customer delivery requirements. Keep current on retail customer requirements, for example, routing guides, pallet specs, etc. Coordinate internal stock transfers with other facilities. Review transportation/parcel movement performance and assist in resolution of service issues and/or carrier selection. Continuously analyze and improve business operations. Identify and implement best practices. Other duties as assigned. What you'll need to be successful... 3 years of leadership experience in a distribution environment. In-depth knowledge of supply chain and distribution center management typically acquired through experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field. Knowledge of transportation industry and parcel movement. In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems and packaging. Knowledge of government regulations. PC Proficiency: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and generate results in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment. Written and oral communication skills; presentation and training skills. In-depth interpersonal skills: demonstrated ability to relate to all types of people; demonstrated trust and integrity. Demonstrated team and individual leadership skills: decision making, analytical, negotiation, and detail orientation. Qualifications that will set you apart In-depth knowledge of supply chain and distribution center management, typically acquired through extensive experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field.
