With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description: Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Systems Construction Manager to oversee the implementation and integration of rail transit systems for a significant rail tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the implementation of critical rail transit systems in a landmark tunnel project. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in managing and coordinating all aspects of rail transit systems, including track, signals, traction power, and associated installations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tunnel projects and a thorough understanding of NFPA-130 standards for fire protection and life safety in transit environments. Role accountabilities: Lead and manage the construction and installation of rail transit systems within the rail tunnel project, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Coordinate and oversee the integration of trackwork, signaling systems, traction power, communications, and control systems. Collaborate closely with design teams, subcontractors, and vendors to review system designs, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Develop and implement comprehensive construction schedules, resource plans, and budgets for systems installation and testing. Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify work meets design specifications and safety regulations. Manage and coordinate the commissioning and testing phases of rail transit systems, ensuring functionality and reliability prior to operational deployment. Ensure compliance with NFPA-130 standards and other relevant codes and regulations pertaining to fire protection and life safety in transit environments. Prepare and review technical documentation, progress reports, and project documentation for management and stakeholders. Implement effective risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project risks related to systems construction and integration. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. 15 years of progressive experience in rail transit systems construction, including trackwork, signals, traction power, and related installations. Extensive experience with rail transit systems on tunnel projects is highly preferred. In-depth knowledge of NFPA-130 standards and other relevant codes and regulations for transit and rail systems. Proven track record in managing complex construction projects, with strong project management and leadership skills. Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and vendors effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
