We are looking to identify an exceptional leader to undertake the newly created role of Major Projects Leader - Tunnels in New York City.This is a unique opportunity to leverage our significant heritage of major tunnel projects and further our market position within New York City. This role will be focused on building on our relationships with our key clients and the successful leadership of major projects.Key responsibilities:Visible LeadershipYou will focus leading Mott MacDonald's effort to pursue major tunnels/underground pursuits in the New York City market. You will bring further awareness of our capabilities to the North American marketplace, building on our successful tunnels experience in the Northeast and leveraging other related discipline skillsets to grow the Mott MacDonald scope on these projects.Business DevelopmentPartner with Mott MacDonald's Business Development Managers, other Practices within Mott MacDonald, and Regional and Global Tunnels Practice Leaders to help drive business development by leveraging their existing contacts and relationships with key clients in the Northeast.Project ExecutionAct as a Project Leader in the delivery of major tunnel projects, providing account leadership, project management and technical advisory and oversight on projects as required.CollaborateWork collaboratively with colleagues across Mott MacDonald, acting as an exemplary role model, articulating and representing the brand, vision, and value proposition internally and externally.Talent AcquisitionSupport the identification of external talent by leveraging your professional network helping to attract, engage, and appoint high-caliber candidates.Best PracticesYou will bring best practices and knowledge into Mott MacDonald's North American business by connecting with key subject matter experts worldwide within and outside of Mott MacDonald.Team MentorshipYou will provide direction, mentorship and guidance to account leaders, technical, operational and junior members of staff in best practices, business development, proposal development and project delivery.Cultivate RelationshipsCultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners, including serving as the primary point of contact for clients during the capture and delivery phases, building trust, understanding client needs, and addressing concerns.EthicsDemonstrate exemplar leadership in maintaining the ethical standards and values of Mott MacDonald within the Unit, ensuring a zero tolerance of unacceptable behaviors.Governance & ComplianceEnsure the correct governance policies, procedures and standards are implemented and achieved within the Unit.Health & SafetyFoster an environment where best practices on health, safety and wellbeing areembedded as default.About you:Market AwarenessYou have experience leading tunnel proposals, pursuits and mega projects within the NY market. You will possess excellent knowledge of upcoming, landmark tunnelling / underground opportunities locally.Tunneling SectorYou will possess a deep understanding of delivering successful tunneling / underground projects, particularly transit-related tunnel and facility rehabilitation.Design BuildExperience collaborating and delivering projects with general contractors, especially in Design-Build and Alternative Delivery models.Client EngagementYou possess a high level of competency in client and business development strategies, to effectively capture and obtain mega project work.People LeadershipYou are able to lead project teams through a collaborative approach and provide mentorship to employees.Project DeliveryYou'll possess technical and commercial expertise, emphasizing design, budget, schedule, and municationYou are a visible leader who possesses exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.PresentationYou're able to articulate your point of view with ease and comfortable presenting to a variety of different stakeholders (peers, clients, executive leadership).Positive Outlook & Big PictureYou're a positive person who understands and appreciates the overarching vision and knows how to continuously work towards it.ChangeYou're able to identify areas of improvement and implement projects, policies and procedures to address.Technical ExperienceYou have most likely progressed your career from a technical background and continue to possess a NY PE license.Salary Range: $250,000 - $300,000Benefits: 401k match, medical, dental and vision insurance, STD/LTD disability, holiday, 25 days PTO, parental leave and company paid life insuranceOur teams are comprised of bright and enthusiastic people who wish to make a difference to the world that we live in.
