We want you to join our team Department: Credit & Collections FLSA status non-exempt Starting rate: $4,116 monthly No. of positions: 1 Overall Purpose: Under semi-direct supervision performs routine duties related to meter reading work. Obtains required meter readings for various customer accounts on a specified work assignment, reports any irregularities or unusual conditions observed, and performs duties associated with the remote disconnection process. Job Responsibilities: Responsible for reading and recording meter registration of all assigned meters on a specified work route. Drives Company vehicle as required in performance of duties. Perform onsite verification functions for remote disconnection of meters, including monitoring, reporting and completion of appropriate orders and paperwork. Observes and reports unusual conditions regarding meters and service including damage, irregularities, tampering and diversion of service. Seeks to determine best method of obtaining readings on non-functioning meters or hard to access locations. Recommends appropriate actions to assure consistent billing reads are obtained. Prior to leaving the office assures that all equipment is properly prepared and all necessary supplies for route are on hand including keys and seals. Assures all supplies and equipment are returned and properly stored at the end of the workday. Performs other work related to the above as assigned or required including duties of lower rated classification of Field Representative. Education / Experience Requirements: Requires High School diploma or GED. Must pass the company administered standardized test. (SASS) Ability to appropriately and effectively interact with customers. Maintains an acceptable appearance while dealing with customers and the public. Good physical condition, ability to work outdoors and safely drive in all weather conditions. Ability to bend, stoop, climb steps, and perform all required tasks under various physical and environmental conditions. Must have a valid state driver's license.
