The Office of Residential Life and Learning Communities supports SUNY Brockport's mission by developing safe, inclusive, and vibrant communities that value academic excellence and overall student development. Through collaboration and unique relationships with students, our staff provides an appropriate balance of challenge and support, community development, and a purposeful residential curriculum with holistic student education at its core. Resident Directors are a critical position with our department that supports our residential student population with educational programming, crisis responses, occupancy management and ensuring they are providing a safe, inclusive and engaged community experience for their residents. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Education, Counseling or related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university. Ability to work in a diverse college population and commitment to creating an inclusive environment. Experience with student learning and development. Must be able to climb stairs, complete rounds, and physically respond to duty calls within residence halls across campus. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university. Ability to work independently and collaboratively on departmental initiatives including Living Learning Communities and Residential Education / Curriculum. Experience designing and implementing student learning outcomes. Experience with current technology initiatives such as Maxient, CBORD Odyssey HMS, Starfish, and CT Banner information system.
