ResponsibilitiesAs an integral member of the Loan Operations Department, this position is mainly responsible for handling telephone inquiries from internal and external customers. Additionally, this role will review and complete research requests for all loan applications as well as process loan payoffs, and handling of Credit Bureau and billing disputes. Handle telephone inquiries and research requests from internal and external customers (ie. loan payoffs, payment history requests, billing disputes, and interest calculations) and perform appropriate follow-up tasks including ongoing communication with the requestorHandle Credit Bureau disputes within the allotted time framePrepare letters to customers as appropriateComplete loan information requests from the government or other financial institutionsProcess all return mail for entire Loan Operations departmentCooperate with other members of the department to achieve departmental goalsOther related duties as assigned or directedMaintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashionProvide assistance wherever necessary to help the Loan Operations Department and the bank in achieving their annual goals QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredProfessionalismEffective verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to multi-taskAbility to work accurately in a time-sensitive environmentExcellent computer and typing skillsResearch and problem solving skillsProficient in Word and Excel Prior experience in related field preferredCommunity Bank System, Inc. is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer who fully embraces diversity - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity.
