Deburr Technician I (2nd Shift) Position Profile: The Deburr Technician position is primarily responsible for the Deburring and Polishing of various types of machined parts. The incumbent must be detail-oriented with excellent vision and hand coordination. Must also be able to inspect utilizing microscopes and demonstrate the ability to multi-task, performing various machine shop related activities in a manner that complies with company requirements (i.e. regulatory, safety, administrative, etc.). This position requires effective contact with shop employees and management to assure quality and priority requirements are met. Minimum Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Demonstrated finishing and/or buffing experience Self-motivated, with the ability to analyze, organize, plan, multi-task and achieve results Effective verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization Must be a US Citizen Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities: Utilize the appropriate tools, including, but not limited to: high speed, hand held deburr tools with abrasives, drill presses and various hand tools, to remove sharp edges from critical valve components. Effectively perform parts inspections utilizing the appropriate measuring equipment/instruments, with little supervisory intervention, before moving to next operations. Independently review documentation and inspect material to ensure conforming product is produced in a safe and efficient manner. Actively participate in troubleshooting activities to resolve issues Coordinate work flow from one work center to another work center, as directed Additional Duties / Responsibilities: Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements. Actively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. Ensure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/shipping & receiving environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required). Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc. This is a full-time position; 4-Day Work Week - Monday-Thursday (4:30 PM-3:00 AM) Overtime and weekend work may be required, as job duties demand. No travel is expected for this position. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to stand at length (7-8 hours, daily), sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds. This position is at our Montville NJ office location.
