Business Summary : Neuberger Berman Specialty Finance ('NBSF') team is a capital solutions provider in the short duration high yield loans and receivables market. NBSF seeks to identify assets within the consumer, small business, and bridge loan segments in order to build short duration, income producing credit portfolios for its clients. The group will partner with high-quality originators who have strong underwriting and servicing capabilities. Utilizing the latest financial technology, NBSF will strive to create diversified portfolios with robust risk protection. The group will leverage strong internal research and data to best position portfolios for the current economic climate. NBSF is headed by Peter Sterling in Redwood City, CA. Position Summary: Neuberger Berman is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Specialty Finance & Fintech Investment Team and help build our investment portfolio. This role will provide you with visibility and access to the forefront of the venture capital and technology communities. You will be part of a growing team and be able to work on cutting edge projects with the backing and of one of the top global asset management firms in the world with over $405 billion in AUM. The work will provide you exposure to the VC community and the broader aspects of the Private Equity industry. Responsibilities : Developing cash flow credit models to model deal returns within consumer and small business loans and various investment structures - portfolio of whole loans, credit facilities, and tranches of ABS Underwriting and executing whole loans and credit facilities Building comprehensive financial models and evaluating various cases and types of deal structures Interacting with investors and communicating funds' strategies and performance; Building out investor presentations in PowerPoint Supporting due diligence of loan originators - usually new, private fintech companies Pricing and modeling securitizations either in Intex or in-house models built in Python/Excel Qualifications : Quantitative degree preferred in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, computer science, or other quantitative disciplines 3-7 years of experience Tier 1 Buy-side or Sell-side experience in investment banking, securitization banking, asset-based finance, asset backed securities portfolio management or asset-based lending Must have extensive trading experience using Intex and interacting with the street Excellent technical proficiency in Excel/VBA; database and programming skills are a plus Extensive experience within securitization markets and the ability to analyze a specialty finance company and its assets Intellectually curious, resourceful, organized, and attentive to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work in a collaborative, demanding, and dynamic environment Compensation Details The salary range for this role is $160,000-$200,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in . An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
