Associate Residency Director-NP Program Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Walton Family Health Center and Center for Counseling - Bronx, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level Graduate Degree Salary Range $130,000.00 - $137,500.00 Salary/year Job Category Nurse Description SUMMARY: The Associate Residency Director of the Institute's Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program assists the Program Director and the FNP Residency Faculty and Staff to maintain a high level of clinical training, education, and health care in the Family Medicine Centers. The Associate Director teaches, precepts, and advises residents and engages in faculty duties for the FNP Residency program. REQUIREMENTS: Assists the Program Director in evaluations of the clinical and teaching effectiveness of the FNP Residency faculty Assists with implementation and coordination of the residency training program according to appropriate guidelines such as the NNPRFTC Ensures adequate physician, resident, and other provider supervision at the outpatient sites Assists in the recruitment of residents to the FNP Residency Assists with the evaluation of faculty applicants to the FNP Residency Assists with short and long term planning for the FNP Residency Attends meetings with Family Medicine and administrative staff with the Program Director and in the Program Director's absence Acts as temporary Program Director for the FNP Residency in the Program Director's absence Serves on assigned Residency and education related committees Provides precepting and evaluation of the performance of FNP Residents, and assigned students Participates in teaching conferences Participates in research activities Maintains board certification through regular CME activities and board exams Attends assigned faculty and departmental conferences and meetings Participates in CQI projects for the clinical residency QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working with an FNP Residency or Fellowship, or working with students Experience precepting students or working as faculty for an FNP Residency or Fellowship Understanding of curriculum development and evaluation methods Experience in performing supervisory tasks such as performance evaluations and interviewsExperience with community outreach and engagement Ability to communicate effectively, maintain excellent rapport and instill confidence with patients, residents and staff Bachelors Degree and Master's degree in Nursing Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program Minimum of 3 years working as a full time, licensed Nurse Practitioner Current NY State Registered Nurse license and registration Nurse Practitioner certification and registration Certified or eligible for certification by recognized specialty organization Current BCLS, infection control and child abuse certifications Basic computer and internet navigational skills Computer literacy with Windows-based operating systems and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) technology Bilingual Spanish / English preferred
