Driver/Dispatcher - Home Delivered Meals Job Details Job Location 1260 Meadowbrook Road, Merrick, NY, 11556 - Merrick, NY Position Type Part Time Education Level None Salary Range $20.00 - $20.00 Travel Percentage 100% Job Category Transportation Driver/ Dispatcher EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Driver/ Dispatcher to work part time for its Home Delivered Meals Program. The Driver/ Dispatcher position is a non-exempt position paying $20 per hour. Work schedule is 8:30AM-12:30 PM for a total of 20 hours per week. The office is located in North Merrick, NY. The role reports to Program Director. Primary Purpose of Job: The Driver/Dispatcher is responsible for assisting with distributing prepared meals and routes to drivers and volunteers and maintaining a client delivery route. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Distribute prepared meals and routes to drivers/volunteers for delivery to homebound clients. Monitor temperatures of food on drivers temperature sheets report any problems to Site Coordinator. Monitor fidelity to menus, report menu changes to Site Coordinator. Maintain a client delivery route and deliver meals to clients. Understand and abide by food preparation regulations and guidelines. Return all paperwork at the end of the route, note if the client was not home. Inform Site Coordinator of name, phone number of clients who were not home. Return frozen/chilled meals to freezer/refrigerator. Adhere to all safety rules of the road and exercise appropriate driving judgment. May be required to assist at another EAC Senior Program location during normal working hours. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required: Valid NYS Drivers License, with no record of suspensions and access to automobile required. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to lift up to 10-20 lbs. when needed Complete on-line Food Safety Training after hire. Ability to use/follow GPS. Minimum of one year of driving and customer service/human service experience required. Ability to communicate with and understand the needs of the homebound elderly.
