Location: Rochester, NY Category: Grant Positions Posted On: Mon Aug 26 2024 Job Description: Function of Position: The Program Coordinator/Lecturer is a combined teaching, administrative, and customer service position. A key responsibility of this position is to contribute to the development of short cycle training solutions through program development, coordination, and instruction of training programs for Advanced Manufacturing, Automation and other Industry 4.0 learning within the Finger Lakes Workforce Development Center. This person will develop programming, coordinate implementation of programming, and instruct training programs for Advanced Manufacturing and Automation within the Finger Lakes Workforce Development (FWD) Center. Other key operational responsibilities include coordinating the registration of in-service courses. Programming encompasses smart factory, mechatronics, robotics, PLC's, VFD's, Hydraulics & Pneumatics Ethernet communications, motor controls, and other advanced manufacturing/automation disciplines. The Coordinator II/Lecturer reports to the Director, Finger Lakes Workforce Development (FWD) Center. This is a temporary position that may be renewed annually contingent upon availability of college budget and performance reviews. This position is eligible for paid time off and benefits. Examples of Duties & Responsibilities: Lecturer Functions: Delivers instruction for select or appropriate programming as determined or assigned. Collaborates with FWD Center staff on course development and instructional design and the implementation of technology in learning, including but not limited to, adult learning methodology, lesson plan development, student exercises development, student assessment, and multimedia learning resources. Instructs in courses or topics as appropriate to the coordinator/lecturer experience, subject matter expertise, and credentials. Serves as subject matter expert involving new program initiatives and with stakeholders seeking existing or custom-developed learning programs and deliveries. Maintains documentation of training, objectives, lesson plans, media, and testing instruments for programs as required. Coordinates program review, evaluation, and suggests adjustments to program delivery and implementation for improved program and student outcomes. Coordinator Functions: Coordinates all aspects of a course from its development, creation of instructional materials, promotion of the course, obtaining necessary resources and materials. Partners with FWD Center team to maintain and/or change/acquire equipment, software, or other learning instruments to meet current programming curriculum and industry alignment. Contributes to management of the department training budget. Serves as a host for stakeholders interested in the programming opportunities with the FWD Center and the advanced manufacturing/automation programs. Assists with outreach, registrations and programming implementation in subject areas around advanced manufacturing/automation. Performs all responsibilities of the position either independently or as a member of a team. Represents the EDIWS Division to other groups and professional organizations. Performs other functions as assigned by the Director, Finger Lakes Workforce Development (FWD) Center. MCC Expectations: Adheres to the College Code of Conduct. Job Requirements: Required Qualifications: Earned associate's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology or a related field from a regionally-accredited higher education institution with five years' experience; or possess a Journeyman's card/certificate from a formal Apprenticeship Program; or a minimum of 10 years' experience in appropriate industrial setting. Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems and components including hydraulics and pneumatics. Knowledge and experience with PSSRs, PSAs and SOPs in industrial setting. Knowledge and experience in optimizing production workflows and quality control processes. Ability to teach courses in the Mechatronics Program. Commitment to supporting an equitable, inclusive environment on campus. Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs. Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies (industry trainings are acceptable). Thorough background on programmable logic controllers and ladder logic. Evidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skills. Classroom and administrative technology proficiency; MS Office tools. Preferred Qualifications: Experience and/or interest in teaching online courses. College-level teaching experience. Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently. Additional Information: Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a salary of $60,000 and is based on these mentioned factors. MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit eligible employees.
