Job Description Job Description ::: {dir='ltr'} Duties/Responsibilities: Assistant Coach and Associate Head Coach Duties/Responsibilities: Identify student-athletes to be considered for recruitment; Determine when and where to recruit prospective student-athletes; Input in regards to who will be offered scholarships; Input regarding roster management; coordinate practice dates/times; Train and supervise the team and student manager; Provide assistance regarding game strategy; Organization of scouting reports; Handle travel responsibilities to include transportation, meals and lodging; Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, MAC and University rules and regulations; Enforce departmental policies regarding student-athletes, training and equipment rooms; Monitor and maintain individual student-athlete files to ensure compliance with team and University policies; Meet with students to discuss coursework demands; assist with equipment and apparel orders and inventory; Participate in departmental activities to include service on committees and attend all scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the athletic administration. Additional Associate Head Coach responsibilities: Serve as recruiting coordinator; responsible for organizing daily practice schedules & implementing individual improvement plans for each student-athlete; When applicable, will represent the Softball program at various University and Conference meetings/committees; Identify key opponent plays & supervise organization and orchestration of scouting reports; Participate in Athletic funding. Minimum Qualifications: Assistant Coach Bachelor's degree Associate Head Coach Bachelor's degree and experience coaching softball at the high school, collegiate or professional level. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to demonstrate softball skills, game and training strategies; Ability to recruit and retain quality student-athletes; Ability to effectively communicate through oral, written and electronic forms; Initiative, problem-solving skills; Ability to adapt to an ever-changing profession; Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and promote an inclusive work environment. Preferred Qualifications: Assistant Coach and Associate Head Coach Master's degree; Someone who handles on and off-field management equally; Network of contacts in primary recruiting areas and an understanding of the complex rules and policies of the NCAA.
