The Psychological Counselor reports to the University Director of Student Wellness Services and/or the Assistant University Director of Student Wellness Services. The incumbent provides counseling and therapy assistance in the form of short-term individual and group counseling services and crisis intervention directly to the college community; makes referrals to outside agencies and clinicians when appropriate; develops and implements outreach programs to enhance wellness; provides consultative assistance and in-service training to various persons and departments within the campus community; and evaluates the need for and effectiveness of counseling programs. The schedule is Monday -Friday 9 am-5 pm with adjusted and extended evening hours two days a week.1.Master's degree required in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or social work; licensed or certified in general mental health counseling: LPC/LAC; MFT/LMFT; LCSW/LSW; LCDAC, etc.2.Two years' experience providing direct clinical mental health counseling.3.Population-appropriate experience strongly preferred, e.g., BIPOC, LGBTQIOA, Neurodivergent, Eating Disorders, Substance Abuse and Addition, Family Dynamics4.Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
