This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Assistant Professor of Luso-Hispanic Studies The Department of Luso-Hispanic Studies at Middlebury College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Spanish beginning in September 2025. We seek candidates who take a transnational approach to Mexico, the United States, and/or Central America in their teaching and scholarship and who specialize in one or more of these areas: Afro-Latin American studies, border studies, decolonial studies, environmental studies, gender and feminist studies, indigenous studies, and new media. Appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor (PhD). Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in scholarship and teaching. Candidates must be strongly committed to teaching language courses at all levels and contributing to the college-wide curriculum, including in the First-Year Seminar program (in English). Tenure-track faculty at Middlebury teach a 2/2 load with an additional class in winter term every other year. They are also required to contribute to the College in the form of service including, but not limited to, serving on elected committees and as Chair or Director of the department or program at the appropriate time in their career.
