The anticipated assignment will be the St. Johnsbury and Hartford districts. Class Definition The Economic Services District Director (Director) is responsible for the management and supervision of one or more district office for the Economic Services Division (ESD) within the Department for Children and Families (DCF) under the Agency of Human Services (AHS). They also oversee the business operation of the district(s) including the administration of economic benefits for multiple programs and case management services to eligible customers. Supervision is provided to professional, technical and clerical employees. Directors also provide cultural leadership to staff and address personnel matters. The work is performed locally with supervision from a central office ESD Operations manager. All Agency of Human Services employees perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation. Environmental Factors Duties are performed in a standard office setting during standard State office times. Some travel may be necessary, for which private transportation must be available when a State Fleet vehicle is not. Frequent interaction is required with other community-based organizations. Stressful interactions with upset or emotional customers, over the phone and in person, will occur, therefore, the Director must be skilled in de-escalation tactics to mitigate issues. Safety and Security of all staff must be maintained at all times. Occasionally, work outside of typical business hours may be expected.
