Description SUMMARY:We are seeking a motivated intern to join our team for a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the daily operations of our department. The intern reports to the Manager of Internal Audit. This is an in-person internship and is based in our Rochester, NY office. The internship is full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer semester (June, July, August), with a pay rate of $17 per hour. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in auditing internal financial controls and procedures. Work on special audits and projects as requested by the Audit Committee and Management. Understand company policies and procedures and audit for compliance. Coordinate with regional management to obtain documentation needed for audit test work. Document audit test work results accurately and concisely. Organize and retain adequate documentation to support audit conclusions for review by external auditors. Determine causes of audit exceptions and collaborate with the Financial Controls Manager on remediation. Performance of other duties, as required. REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in O365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Strong interest in internal auditing, risk management, and compliance. Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and maintain objectivity. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS: Currently pursuing a degree in a related field from an accredited institution. This position is employed by the specific entity set forth in the job posting.
