Portfolio Manager The Portfolio Manager works to optimize the investment performance of client portfolios by selecting assets that maximize return while appropriately balancing risk. This job utilizes investment and analytical expertise to build investment portfolios, manage client expectations and transactions, and achieve clients' overall investment objectives. Key Responsibilities and Duties Builds successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends. Recommends portfolio adjustments to enhance client's profit based on industry trends identified through market and risk analysis. Buys and sells securities in client accounts to maintain a specific investment strategy or to reach an investment objective. Determines acceptable risk levels for clients based on time frames, risk preferences, return expectations, and market conditions. Evaluates the performance of investment portfolios and ensures compliance with standards provided by regulatory organizations, including conformance with investor disclosures, privacy laws, anti-money laundering requirements, and anti-fraud measures. Maintains new and existing client relationships, including informing clients of market conditions, updating them on investment research and economic trends, and meeting with them to discuss their portfolio performance and investment objectives. Maintains and informs team of updated knowledge of capital markets and the investment management industry to make informed decisions and implement best practices. Engages with business partners on a regular basis to support asset accumulation activities and drive retention. Educational Requirements University (Degree) Preferred Work Experience 5 Years Required; 7 Years Preferred Physical Requirements Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work Career Level 8IC This position can be placed in one of the following work locations: Stamford, CT; Hamden, CT; Burlington/Williston, VT; Hanover, NH; Providence, RI; Boston, MA; or Albany, NY. Required Qualifications: 5 years complex, direct portfolio management experience with individual clients Preferred Qualifications: 7 - 10 years complex, direct portfolio management experience with individual clients Bachelor's degree CFA or CFP certification Previous experience with various trading platforms Previous experience with investment research platforms Deep understanding of investments with a high level of acumen Strong proficiency and deep demonstrated background in client relationship building skill set #LI-KD2 Related Skills Change Management, Client Financial Planning, Client Service, Communication, Data Analysis, Due Diligence, Executive Presence, Financial Acumen, Investment Reporting Oversight, Portfolio Management, Resourcefulness, Tax Anticipated Posting End Date: 2024-09-30 Base Pay Range: $104,300/yr. - $148,500/yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
