Position Summary Equipment Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of simple automated assembly machines, equipment requiring the oversight of an immediate team of assemblers, or by acting as an assistant in certain line setup operations. This individual will ensure the continued operation of assembly and production machines through interpretation of and appropriate response to machine faults and through infrequent alignment of stations and fixtures. This individual will perform simple, repetitive tasks associated with machine operation. This position will operate machines and production lines that require a low level of attentiveness. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Keep work area and equipment clean. Supports improvements for 5s initiatives. Able to read and understand procedures. Responsible for safe operation of equipment in accordance with company standards and procedures. Capable of starting a machine from power off state. Performs work order set ups in electronic batch record, data acquisition, and inventory management systems. Operates machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce good quality products at established run rates. Reads and interprets gauges and dials as required on equipment. Interpreting machine faults, rectify problems, and restart machine. Completes production records and work order documentation as needed. Perform inspection or testing of product to ensure good quality. Weigh, count, package, and label finished product. Able to learn to operate simple machines quickly and easily. Able to demonstrate flexibility in operating multiple simple machines. Supports overtime activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications Ability to oversee/run assigned line/process without requiring assistance from others. Ability to work at pace for line/process to achieve shift goal. Performs routine safety inspections on assigned processes. Able to perform in all required in process quality inspections for assigned area/process including moderate difficulty in-process testing & debug (Silicone/Heparin/Packaging Testing). Able clear equipment jams and reset equipment. Able to escalate issues to line technicians as required. Able to performs material changeovers (Paper/ Poly). Basic Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word) and computer experience preferred. Able to read and understand procedures. Completion of internal training for certified operator. Completion of Lock-Out / Tag-Out Training as required per line. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. 0-12 months experience required. Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age. Travel Requirements Position does not require travel. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Use solvents, glue, or solder. Must be able to perform visual inspections with and without the aid of magnification tools. Associate is required to use computer or touch screen to enter work order data. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This job operates in a clean room environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for the duration of the shift. Must be able to repetitively move and lift objects of up to 20 lbs.
