Purpose of Position:The Program Accountant ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, reconciling, and analyzing accounts. Schedule: Monday through Friday - 9:00am to 5:00pm Salary:$69,644 - $87,055 Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties Oversee and manage the daily grant/ contract process for 15 to 17 grants, including collaborating with Directors regarding grant opportunities Responsible for the review and approval of all Purchase Orders initiated by the Directors for those contracts in the assigned portfolio Monthly preparation of documentation, expense reports, and coordination of the administrative process of the grant program Preparation of monthly &/or quarterly reimbursement expenditure vouchers Record all electronic payments for the grants in the assigned portfolio Monitor, input, review all grant data in the required City/State/Federal portal and system Monitor interventions and programs funded by grants to ensure compliance with grantor guidelines Serve as a liaison with principals and other departments on issues regarding grants. Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing information; advising departments on the collection and analysis of data Work proactively with program staff to understand needs and changes in the program's operations, and initiate all budget modifications based on that discussion Prepare Journal Entries and perform account analysis for assigned contracts as part of the monthly financial close Conduct monthly meetings with department heads to review budgets, year to date expenses, projections and other program matters Coordinate grant compliance and reporting responsibilities with Finance, Human Resources and Programs including program outcome data and fiscal reports Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including cash flow projections Serve as a key point of contact with funders, and develop and coordinate all requests in a timely manner Assist in the development of responses to RFP submissions including budget and budget narrative preparation Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the grantor, assists in all audits, including the preparation of all required schedules Conduct Physical inventory/ asset schedules Participate as Fiscal Unit Member by attending staff meetings and training programs; collaborate on tasks and make suggestions for improvement Ensure proper cost segregation and allocation of cost Ensure compliance with the Uniform Guidance Perform other duties as required Qualifications/Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accountingpreferred Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in related field Knowledge in accounting and financial reporting knowledge of grant processing including federal, state and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration including the Uniform Guidance Working knowledge of government contracts. Other Abilities Superior attention to detail and the ability to analyze data and then communicate the results in a concise manner Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently Ability to work extended hours during close, audit periods and other critical times Ability to work with interruptions and tight deadlines Ability to work independently and to be self-reliant while still working effectively in a team environment Ability to prioritize and take ownership of work Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have/be: Working knowledge of Intacct and HHS Accelerator Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
