We seek a broadly trained geochemist who complements the interdisciplinary nature of our geology and environmental science programs. Ideal candidates are expected have strong records of research in the areas related to fluid-rock chemical interactions for CO2 underground storage, carbon mineralization, geothermal exploration, serpentinization for H2 production, or pollutant transport in water, soil, and air, and demonstrate a high likelihood of continued research success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the research faculty will be to work as an active researcher with the faculty mentors in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. This will include conducting research leading to publications and participating in the development and submission of related research grant proposals in the areas of sustainable energy geochemistry and/or environmental geochemistry. Required Qualifications Applicants should have a doctoral degree in geochemistry or environmental chemistry. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of research and scholarly activity in the expected research areas.
