Job Description Assistant Retail Buyer - Seattle, WA (Hybrid) Reporting location: 835 S 192nd Street, Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98148 Service Excellence. Performance. Integrity. Teamwork. Consistency. Innovation. Our Hotel Management department is looking for an Assistant Retail Buyer to join their team. This position is integral part of the team and is responsible for supporting the development of merchandising programs tailored to the Alaska tourist market. You will work with a select group of vendors to create purchase plans and product assortment, initiating and coordinating orders and delivery schedules. This person will be a liaison with Retail Manager, Buyer, and Gift Shop Managers in developing appropriate strategies for shop inventory management. Responsibilities: Responsible for monitoring inventory and managing invoicing and receipts by working with the Seattle warehouse and the Alaska Hotel/Lodge Gift Shops. Reconciles invoices by verifying entries and comparing PO receipts. Processes non-Purchase order invoices for the department. Manages vendors including vendor set up. Resolves PO discrepancies, including contacting vendors with discrepancies. Manages assigned vendors and product lines under Retail Manager and Buyer supervision. Partners to create purchase plans, initiates and coordinates reorder and delivery schedules. Oversees physical inventories for all lodges, helps to reconcile discrepancies, processes counts and maintains records. Maintains historical records. Assists in Warehouse operations as needed Other duties as assigned. Requirements: This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge through the completion of a Associate's degree, Business or Retail Merchandising majors preferred. Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement. Minimum of two year's related experience in retail purchasing and merchandising. Must be able to travel up to 10% Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. May also need to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work in a Warehouse; must be able to lift up-to 40 pounds. May be requested to work a different shift including working beyond normal business hours and/or on weekends occasionally to support business needs, projects, and/or operations. Must pass a pre-employment background check. Must be able to legally work in the United States. Abilities, Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in MS Office applications, with working knowledge of computerized point-of-sale (POS) and inventory management. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (verbal & written). Ability to communicate, coordinate and collaborate with multiple locations, management, and staff. Ability to organize work, handle multi-tasking, maintain attention to detail and accuracy (a must), and work under pressure to meet deadlines Maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with Retail Manager and/or Buyer. Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences. Ability to work with all levels of management, employees and customers. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base hourly salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
