Machinist - Lathe Setup Operator Tonawanda, NY ( Job Type Full-time Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities Setup and operate CNC machinery from blueprints. Edit programs on the machine, when needed. Check parts for accuracy according to blueprints. Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Competencies Spatial Relations, Mechanical Aptitude, Teamwork, and Collaboration. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of FANUC controls Knowledge of 4th axis operation a plus Able to use measuring equipment such as Calipers, Micrometers, Indicators, etc. Must be able to follow directions and perform work accurately and thoroughly Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem Ability to interpret, edit, and program efficiently, when required Machinist tools required High School Diploma or GED Lathe machining experience required Physical Job Requirements Lift up to 40 pounds, additional with team lift Work Environment Machine shop Use of hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes required. Hearing and eye protection provided. Safety shoes and glasses covered through reimbursement program.
