The Team Lead is responsible for Status Unit: assisting co-workers with training and making sure all processes are completed and timely. This position is customer service focused by assisting with all maintenance to employers' accounts, closures, and address changes. Incumbent is responsible for all rates maintenance on employers' accounts. Essential Functions Essential functions are fundamental, core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position in the class. Plans, assigns, reviews and participates in evaluating the work of subordinate staff responsible for determining employer liability and assessment rates to ensure that Status Unit activities are carried out in accordance with applicable departmental, state and federal regulations and guidelines. Maintains employer related non-monetary information in the U.I. Tax Account Maintenance Subsystem data base. Oversees annual computation and daily adjustment and computation of employer tax rates. Develops and implements policies and procedures for status unit. Participates with other management personnel in planning and implementing inter-state/division program and operational procedures by providing input on the feasibility of implementation and impact on status unit operations. Acts as a technician with the typical duties of: determining employer liability for unemployment insurance tax, payment and wage reporting; reviewing and acting upon applications for transfer of experience from predecessor to successor employers; determining advisability of combining employer accounts for establishment of joint assessment rating; maintaining and coordinating annual employer experience rating process; maintaining and controlling the processing of arbitrary assessments; responding to inquiries from employers or their representatives; performing related duties such as participating in annual employer certification process. Participates with data processing section in the development, implementation and maintenance of Status Unit program systems. Maintains required records; prepares reports.
