What you'll do Reporting to the Manager of Grant Accounting, the Sr. Grant Accountant, will support all aspects of grant accounting assisting with the Grant Accounting INFOR module and engaging with internal stakeholders and funding sources. Role will encompass review of contracts to ensure compliance, verification of expenses, preparation of reports and vouchers with appropriate support to be submitted via relevant on-line portals; monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts; close collaboration with the Office of Grants Management and Research senior leadership. This role works with, and assists all components of the grants cycle, pre-award, post-award, sub-contract management, and grant closeout procedures. Serves as liaison with various relevant internal partners and funding agencies to meet pre-established deadlines. Ensures that that administration of sponsored programs is compliant with federal, state and private agency rules and regulations, as well as those of Bassett Healthcare Network. This position requires interaction with management, staff, auditors and other outside agencies. Oversee and perform accounting tasks associated with the network's accounting system as it relates to grants management. Ensure proper accounting treatment and general ledger postings, ensure compliance with GAAP. Prepare and import general ledger entries and reconciliations for grant portfolio. Ensure all federal transactions are in accordance with the grant agreements and Uniform Guidance. Review restricted fund transactions to ensure the transactions adhere to funding agency guidelines, regulations and grant/contract restrictions as well as internal policy and procedures. Manage grant billing and invoicing, conduct direct cash draws as appropriate. Prepare and review grants and contracts expenditures prior to submissions for completeness and accuracy. Prepare and review working papers and schedules for external audit and Single Audit and other financial reports as required. Work closely with and support the Office of Grant Management and Research Administration, Program managers and funding agencies to ensure a continuity of services from pre-award through post-award, including reconciliations, financial status reports. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Office of Grants Management and Research leadership and all other stakeholders in organization. Prepare, review, and submit all Financial Reporting as required internally and externally. Stay current on all federal grant regulation, process and reporting requirements, including Uniform Guidance. Stay current on all accounting requirements (FASB, GAAP, etc.) for Funds and other restricted assets. Analyzes monthly grant activity, monitors spending and expenditures posted to assigned grant projects, and serves as liaison to the Office of Grants Management and Research leadership. Support monthly financial close process. Other duties as assigned. What we need from you Education: 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field, required Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in grants management, preferably in healthcare, higher education or university grants setting, required Minimum 2 years of hands-on general ledger accounting experience, required Minimum 2 years excellent attention to detail, written communication skills and strong analytical skills, required Skills: Communication Interacting with People Analysis & Evaluation Auditing Attention to Detail Reliability Computer Skills Accounting Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $66,556.32/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $99,834.49/Yr.
