Provides input to Supervisor on maintenance needs Looks for ways to improve efficiency and uptime and makes recommendations to Supervisor Counts panels in the finished units of plywood to ensure the proper number of panels and marks counted panels on front right side of unit Inspects units prior to shipping and removes bad panels from units of plywood using wedges Bands units in a straight, tight manner, ensuring the units are straight and square Ensures stamp is changed on bad panels removed from units and that panels are stacked neatly for forklift operator to pick up Reads grade stamps on panels and ensures they are accurate Ensures all in-process panels are marked with thickness, shift information and proper placement of Crossouts Stencils logo neatly on units of plywood and keeps stencil clean Maintains a clean and organized work area Operates forklift when necessary Assists in housekeeping efforts with sawline on every maintenance day and bag houses as needed Sweeps up saw dust and veneer scraps with a push broom Picks up scraps of veneer with shovel, rake, or by hand Paints various plant equipment and materials and barriers, framework, guards, etc. Follows Company policies, procedures and safety rules Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
