11135 Maria Parham Float CAT Scan Tech JOB SUMMARY Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice at Maria Parham Health & Person Memorial Hospital. Reports to: Market Director of Imaging Services FLSA: Non-exempt Grade: T09 & T06 EEO: â–¡ 01 Officials and Managers â–¡ 02 Professionals X 03 Technicians â–¡ 04 Sales Workers â–¡ 05 Administrative Support Workers â–¡ 06 Craft Workers â–¡ 07 Operatives â–¡ 08 Laborers and Helpers â–¡ 09 Service Workers JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum EducationHigh school graduate or GED equivalency is required.Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology is required. Required SkillsCertifications:ARRT registered in Radiology is puted Tomography (CT) certification is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon hire. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Minimum Work ExperiencePrevious CAT scan experience is preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate. Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
