And we were recently named as one of America's Most Loved Workplaces 2022 by Newsweek As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, your duties will be to maintain all equipment, buildings and grounds. This role will also be required to assist with facility operations as required including the operation of heavy equipment. This is a 1st shift position that requires the ability to periodically work weekends and overtime, as required. Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Primary responsibility for Heavy Equipment repairs and preventative maintenance (loaders, excavators, screeners, stackers, etc.). Proficient in Heavy equipment Operation (loaders, excavators, screeners, stackers, etc.). Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of Heavy Equipment maintenance. Maintenance tasks for buildings and grounds, as required. Experience obtaining quotes, placing orders, and managing material/supply inventory. Welding ability (MIG and stick). Ability to read and understand equipment manuals. Able to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work unsupervised at times. Always maintain a clean and organized work area. Wear proper PPE as required. Verify, confirm and oversight all equipment to assure OSHA standards are met or exceeded. Work directly with Operations and Environmental, Health and Safety staff to prioritize maintenance-related tasks. Be involved in mandatory pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational meetings detailing task to be completed on shift and review all safety including proper PPE and monitoring. Basic Required Qualifications: Safety-first mentality Good communication skills. Strong background in safe use of hand and power tools. Minimum of 3 years in diesel engine maintenance. Minimum of 3 years welding experience (Stick, MiG). Positive attitude and maintain production-focused attitude. Good problem-solving skills.
