Working with colleagues who love what they do and are deeply committed to our Mission, you too can be part of our transformation across the enterprise Coordinator - Floater Full-Time Overview: Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 14 years, is currently looking for a Full Time Floater Coordinator. In this role, the Floater Coordinator will be providing our world-renowned Physicians' medical practices with administrative support, act as liaison to a wide variety of hospital staff and departments, assist with the day-to-day practice operations ensuring the highest level of customer service delivery, practice, support and patient confidentiality. This position is based in Manhattan, but some travel by car to our Regional Sites is required as needed. Manhattan is the primary worksite location for this position. JOB SUMMARY Provide our world-renowned Physicians' medical practices with administrative support, act as liaison to a wide variety of hospital staff and departments, assist with the day-to-day practice operations ensuring the highest level of customer service delivery, practice, support and patient confidentiality. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provide assistance in the day-to-day operations of the MD Offices. As needed, assume the lead role of and perform the responsibilities of Office Manager for a period of time either finite or extended. Answer telephone calls, route callers, take messages and provide routine information to callers in a professional and efficient manner; communicate messages to staff via email and Epic via in-basket messaging. Schedule patient appointments and other ancillary tests as directed by Office Manager, Medical Secretary, or Physician. Schedule surgeries and procedures as needed for HSS Verify insurance coverage, pre-certify/authorize patient visits and procedures; discuss insurance deductibles/copayments/patient responsibility with patients. Perform financial transactions and related functions when appropriate and directed by Office Manager, Medical Secretary or Physician. Adjust and acclimate to various work assignments and work environments. Manage time appropriately to meet patient, department and hospital needs. Maintain satisfactory attendance record and communicate time away with Service Lines. Identify strengths and weaknesses in office workflow on behalf of Service Lines. Uphold the values of HSS and Service Lines in all assigned medical offices. Qualifications Requirements Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree highly desirable. 3-5- years physician office experience may be considered in lieu of education. Primary location is HSS Main Campus in Manhattan; minimum travel to HSS Long Island as needed; must be able to travel by car (80% Main Campus/20% Uniondale) Other Requirements #-Onsite Pay Range - Minimum USD $32.00/Hr.
