Description Qualifications: High School Diploma required. One year of experience in an office support environment. Formal secretarial or office management training in lieu of experience may be substituted for experience. Must have demonstrable computer skills. Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess organizational and time management skills. Statement of Job: Under direct supervision, performs a variety of office, secretarial and/or administrative support for the Early Childhood Services program. The EC Administrative Assistant 1 performs a varied and complex array of administrative support functions, and may be responsible to coordinate certain departmental activities. Responsibilities: Prepare and manage correspondence, reports and documents that may be confidential in nature. Organize and coordinate meetings and conferences. Maintain schedules and calendars. Greet and direct visitors; accept, screen and route telephone calls. Communicate verbally and in writing to answer general inquiries concerning activities and operations for the Early Childhood Services program. Establish, maintain, process and update files, records and other materials. Order departmental supplies. Sort and distribute incoming mail. Prepare photocopies, faxes, and operate a variety of office equipment. Other duties as assigned Essential Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/move, push and pull objects up to 10-15 lbs. Must be able to pull/retrieve/re-file charts. Must be able to sit and use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel. Must be able to communicate via telephone. Must be able to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, twist and bend. Must be able to sit for up to two (2) hours at a time. Must be able to use all office equipment in use in the assigned office.
