What Global Sourcing Operations contributes to Cardinal Health Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation, best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence, industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management, contract negotiation, supply chain optimization and risk mitigation. Global Sourcing Operations is responsible for the governance, enablement, risk management and project execution for global procurement. This family is also responsible for data analytics and identifying cost savings opportunities to improve negotiations with suppliers. Job Summary The Cost Engineering team is responsible for managing and providing guidelines on costs and resources for the manufacturing of products. Should Cost engineers acquire, validate, standardize, enrich, and publish structured, data analysis to forecast the cost of sourced or manufactured products using usage, cost breakdown, and application of advanced quantitative modeling. Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes. Responsibilities Independently scope, research, develop, socialize, and identify benchmarking using cost data, labor productivity analysis, equipment, capacity from vendor quotes and industry market intelligence forecast. Gains consensus from various parties involved, identify, analyze, and present relevant insights that drive business decisions and anticipate opportunities to achieve a competitive advantage. Provide valuable insights that aid in the proper allocation of resources, identifying possible risks, and determining production costs. Strong process and project management skills needed to propose and execute cost analysis in alignment with cross functional teams. Perform usage cost breakdown, data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings. Establish collaborative environment with key suppliers and internal/external business partners to optimize business performance and innovation. Collaborate with and influence internal business partners in a highly matrix environment to optimize supplier network, performance, and innovation. Independently execute projects of moderate scope and complexity with sound reasoning and accuracy. Applies working knowledge to identify possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve. Identify and drives cost savings opportunities. Reviews and approves finances behind any engineering design changes and implementations. Collaborates with cross functional partners to identify areas of product improvement. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in engineering, or equivalent experience in related field preferred. 4-8 years of experience in cost engineering preferred. Expertise in manufacturing including technical product knowledge, cost drivers, related industry dynamics and market trends. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively and interact and collaborate with personnel at various levels of expertise on a global landscape. Driven and motivated with strong attention to detail. Astute in analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable estimating, developing, and executing cost (breakdown) analysis. Results-oriented, strategic thinker, highly resourceful, able to work in a team environment. Experience working on project teams preferred.
