Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today Short Term Housing Program: CAMBA's Short Term Housing Program (STHP) provides 35 units of congregate and transitional housing to PLWHA who are homeless or at serious risk of homelessness. There are 7 clients residing at CAMBA's congregate facility located at 27 Winthrop Street and 28 clients living in community apartments (15 families and 16 singles). Program staff will ensure that all apartments are near public transportation and accessible to other amenities such as health care, shopping, laundry, and other necessary services. STHP housing program provides a model of service that addresses the interrelated problems of HIV and homelessness. Through a congregate residence at 27 Winthrop, and the apartments in the community, we provide transitional housing, case management support, and housing readiness training in a supportive environment, which will help clients develop the skills to find and maintain permanent, stable housing. Transitional Congregate Housing Programs TCHP and TCHP II: Provides 19 units of emergency transitional housing to clients coming from HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) Emergency Placement Unit. Each individual has their own lockable room but shares common space such as the bathrooms, living room and kitchen. Clients receive case management and residential/operational services such as meals and assistance when they move to permanent housing. Case management support is an integral part of achieving the program's goal of helping clients to attain self-sufficiency. Position: Overnight Manager Reports To: Program Manager Location: 27 Winthrop, Brooklyn, NY 11225 What The Overnight Manager Does: Maintain professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality. Practice Universal Precautions/Standard Protocol & Procedures. Comply with all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy polices intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information. Input client data into database, as needed. Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders. Ensure compliance with agency and funder regulations. (i.e., shift exchange reports, incident reports, clients face sheets, update client listing, security, client care, etc.). Ensure security and residential aide and social service staff conduct new client orientation within 24 hours of entry into the facility. Ensure the safety and security of operations of the facility by maintaining adequate staffing levels. Must remain on-site to always provide supervisory coverage, including lunch breaks, when working shifts as the only on-site Shift Supervisor. Manage all emergency crisis situations involving staff and clients. Ensure supplies are secured and accounted for. Utilize performance management systems to encourage the ongoing communication process with direct staff to develop, enhance, sustain, and improve the employees' work performance. Manage and coordinate the day-to-day functions of the facility ensuring programming, rounds, and client care services are occurring. Implement strategies for effective team performance. Professionally respond to complaints, incidents, and emergencies and/or incidents and interview all parties, analyze, collect data, document, and report the situation. Resolve individual conflicts and disputes between staff or clients in a respectful and solution-based manner. Lead and participate in program meetings as requested. Engage clients to address issues that arise on the shift and document and communicate via incident reports, emails, text messages, etc. during each shift. Monitor clients' safety and ensure safety policies and procedures are practiced daily. Overcome resistance to change from clients, direct reporting staff, and supervisors/funders. Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders. Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff. Review and sign time sheets. In the absence of adequate staffing, will have direct service/program responsibility in addition to the above. Enforce and adhere to the Good Neighbor Policy and respond to community concerns when appropriate. Task may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over a period of time. Minimum Education/Experience Required: HS Diploma or GED and 3 years relevant experience, or associate degree (A.A.) and 2 years relevant experience with congregate or shelter supervisory work. Other Requirements: Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification. Must obtain and maintain certification in overdose prevention. Must obtain and maintain F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification. Must be able to work 12 AM- 8AM shift This position requires flexibility. Compensation: $24 hourly When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.
