Job Description THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $16.00 PER HOUR The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community. ACS' Division of Child and Family Well-being (CFWB) designs and executes strategies to support caregivers, children, and communities, so they can thrive and enjoy self-determination. A critical piece of CFWB's portfolio is the operation of the City's subsidized child care voucher system -- one of the largest child care assistance programs in the country. ACS provides vouchers to tens of thousands of low-income and child welfare-involved families, allowing parents and caregivers to access affordable childcare at the provider of their choice while they pursue work, education, or training. Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships (OCEP) serves as a liaison and provides technical assistance to Community Partnerships and Family Enrichment Centers, helps deepen the community's awareness and connections to ACS programs and services through a discussion series, and builds a variety of neighborhood and citywide partnerships that promote family and child safety, stability, and well-being What You Will Do: Work with the team to determine needed communication strategies for informing staff about community engagement. Use of Canva or other software to design communication materials (i.e., PowerPoint, flyers, onepagers,etc.) Share communication materials Conduct research Work with team to identify areas of research Conduct research, primarily online, on research questions Support event and training development Help team with planning and design of meetings, events and trainings Provide support on day of event or training in execution of event and training Support the planning team Participate in staff meetings Be a thought partner in required planning meetings. Provide student lens to OCEP work. Qualifications Employment in this title is restricted to students enrolled and attending high school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a high school student. No student shall be employed for more than 20 hours in any week that school is in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
