Connect with a recruiter at: The Lead Mechanic - HVAC is responsible for planning, performing and delegating the installation, testing, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration-related control systems throughout the facility. Receives and reviews work orders, distributes assignments to staff, and coordinates and schedules projects. Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or equivalency required, Associate's Degree preferred. Experience: Five (5) years' of experience in the maintenance field in a health care facility required. Certification: Electrical or Plumbing License required or HVAC Certification required. Responsibilities: Planning, performing and delegating the installation, testing, inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs involving heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration-related control systems throughout the facility. Receives and reviews work orders, and distribute assignments to staff, coordinate and schedule projects, estimates time and materials to perform required tasks, and orders stock. Provides a safe, comfortable environment for all patients, visitors, and staff by ensuring optimum operation of the systems. Works with outside vendors and contractors as needed. Coordinating daily heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration work performed within the department. Coordinates, communicates and prepares areas for shutdowns to ensure that patient care areas are affected as little as possible. Responds to emergency repair situations and makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures. Assigns and monitors work orders and confirms their completion. Responsible for the implementation and ongoing evaluation of the preventative maintenance systems. Assists in completing all necessary reports and applications for permits. Maintains safe and clean equipment and areas surrounding the equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs equipment, systems and installs new equipment to include Automated Logic Controls, humidification, HVAC equipment and steam systems. Works with regulatory agencies to ensure all licenses and operating permits and cooling systems; JCAHO, NFPA, NYSDEC, EPA, NYSDOH, etc. Assists in reviewing and developing department policies and procedures. Coaches, mentors and trains staff, conducts meetings as needed, and administers performance reviews and discipline. Participates in the interview and hiring process of prospective candidates. Completes required training as assigned. Complies with Hospital and department policies, work rules and requirements. Adheres to patient privacy policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality. Salary Range: $25.72-$38.57 /hour Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
