The Division of Highways Development (Planning Services) seeks an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager 1 to be part of our Planning Services team. Our team is looking for someone with a strong background in transportation and likes working with diverse stakeholders in a culture that promotes innovation and collaboration. This position will work closely with many diverse groups in a planning capacity that include state, federal and private organizations to solve problems and improve or develop processes to enhance current workflow, operations, and compliance. The selected candidate must be a self-starter and be able to work independently to achieve goals. This position is based at the ITD Headquarters building in Boise, Idaho. SUMMARY: To plan, implement and manage one or more regional or small projects; perform related work. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Develops and manages initiatives related to Planning which includes doing necessary research and working with transportation stakeholders. Examples include: Consultation processes Statewide transportation plans Support to external agencies Providing project management support to subject matter experts Engaging stakeholders at a statewide level and building consensus for transportation priorities MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes. Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public Developing and monitoring contracts Desired Qualifications Experience with federal aid projects and/or programs.
