Job Profile Summary "‹This role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education to individuals within the organization. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Associate Safety related duties: Prevents workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education for employees. A professional individual contributor role that may direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialized knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education. A senior level role that requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. Typically responsible for: managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision, coaching and reviewing the work of lower level professionals, resolving difficult and sometimes complex problems. Job Overview This position is responsible to support Safety Officers and Dispatchers in their performance of all duties and responsibilities related to the day to day protection and safety of patients, staff and visitors; as well as the security of hospital assets and information. This position is also responsible for basic healthcare public safety duties. This position has oversight for operational aspects of the department including: General supervision, training and training scheduling, payroll submissions, evidence storage, records management, dispatching, and supporting locksmith operations. This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the Medical Center's physical security systems and the Department of Public Safety's information systems. Installs, services, and maintains physical security devices (including, but not limited to access control panels, door hardware/ID badge readers, CCTV cameras, alarms, and related infrastructure). Responsible for development, maintenance, and execution of preventative maintenance processes for the enterprises' physical security infrastructure. Assists in the evaluation and determination of physical security technological needs, and assists in managing vendor relationships and development of price quotes and capital budget plans. Job Description Minimum Qualifications : High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an approved law enforcement training program or Police Academy. Valid state issued driver's license with at least 1 year of driving experience. Five (5) years of experience working with installing and maintaining complex physical security systems. Experience with security systems, including the CCURE 9000 access control system and ExacqVision CCTV platform. Experience with VLAN and LAN networking, as well as windows-based computer and server environments. Preferred Qualifications : Associates degree in Criminal Justice or related area. Three (3) years of related experience in military, security, or police. Security or first responder certifications such as CPR/AED, CPI NCI, AVADE, MOAB, MDTS, Stop the Bleed, or Nasal Naloxone Certifications. Prior experience as a supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities : The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Installs, troubleshoots, services, maintains, and repairs electronic security systems, including: access control and alarm panels, devices, locks, biometric readers, and badge readers; both analog and IP based CCTV cameras; infant protection systems; and all related infrastructure - including windows based VM servers and video storage devices. Assists in the management and supervision of the department's vendor relationships with physical security systems providers. Coordinates service calls and installation schedules to ensure on-time and on-budget achievement of objectives. Responsible for the final sign-off and acceptance of any vendor completed work. Develops, maintains, and executes a preventative maintenance program for all Public Safety technical systems to detect both physical deficiencies in the field, as well as the patching and appropriate functionality of underlying software platforms. Stays informed of changes in the industry and to technological options. Makes recommendations for investments in new technology and/or the replacement of end of life equipment. Assists in the design and development of physical security plans for both existing areas and new construction. Coordinates regularly with Facilities Project Management on the execution of project plans. Interfaces regularly with members of the medical center community to address concerns and questions regarding physical security systems and their functionality. Assists in the detection and resolution of bypasses to the physical security system after determining root causes. Assists in the planning, operation, and maintenance of the medical center Card Access program. Conducts regular audits of sensitive areas, and designs plans for assignment of access. Provides training to Public Safety operations staff and other end users concerning the proper operation and utilization of all technical systems. Oversees and works collaboratively with the department's locksmith towards achieving shared objectives. Physical Requirements : Frequent standing and walking with the ability to stand and/or walk for eight (8) hours. Climb multiple flights of stairs. Lift fifty (50) pounds alone. Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves or eye protection as required. Some exposure to the elements during regular rounds. . Skills & Abilities: Completes all training requirements and courses established and/or provided by the department. Proficient in communicating, reading, and writing in English. Basic Computer Skills required. Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines. Ability to assess potentially dangerous situations quickly, make sound decisions, and take appropriate action based on the information available.
