Looking for a job that combines cooking and helping people?Embark Behavioral Health Bend is looking for a reliable part time OR full-time cook to be part of our amazing team!Embark Behavioral Health Bend is a residential program for youth struggling with mental & behavioral health, we provide 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks to our clients and the staff members that work with them (currently around 8-12 people)Set, predictable weekly schedule- shifts are either 6:30am-2:30pm or 10am-6:30pmPosition is part-time (24 hrs/week- 3 shifts) OR Full-time (32-40 hrs/week- 4-5 shifts)$21.25-24/hour, depending on experiencePreparation and serving of nutritious, homemade meals and snacks for up to 30 people, accounting for a variety of dietary needs at each mealKeeping all areas of the kitchen and dining hall clean and sanitized, responsible for doing dishes for all assigned mealsEnsure that all food preparation, storage and cleaning practices follow health department regulationsDevelop and maintain positive, healthy relationships with students and staff21+ years of ageAble to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen Current driver's license & clean driving recordHigh school degree or equivalentCurrent Oregon Food Handlers certificationMaintain current First Aid and CPR certificationExperience preparing and cooking high quality, healthy food and accomodating various dietary needsWorking knowledge of kitchen equipment and nutritional standardsAbility to effectively communicate, build healthy relationships and hold appropriate boundariesStrong communication, organizational and time management skillsPositive attitude, flexibility and ability to both work independently and be a team playerTimeliness, organization, and reliabilityPreferred Experience:1 year of experience working in a residential settingExperience working with youth and/or cooking for 15+ people preferredComprehensive Benefit Program that includes medical insurance with a generous company contribution towards a high deductible plan, dental insurance, vision insurance, voluntary life and AD&D insurance, long-term disability, 401K with company matching, and paid maternal leave.Paid Time Off plus time and a half pay on company recognized holidaysOpportunity to foster relationships with adolescents and their families, create joy in their lives, and heal generations.Embark and team members embrace the core values of empathy, trusting relationships, service, growth, and resultsWhat does working with Embark offer you?
