The position performs disassembly, analysis, troubleshooting, and rebuilding of customer pumps. The Pump Technician must be highly productive and produce quality repairs on time and within budget to achieve complete customer satisfaction Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret and work from drawingsDisassemble, analyze, and rebuild cryogenic pumps, accessories, and motors to optimizie performanceOperate drill press, hydraulic press, bench grinder, pipe threading machine, pipe bender, cutting torch, band saw, and other shop equipmentAnalyze condition of parts for causes of damage by operation in the field in order to communicate with customers and improve reliabilityPerform assembly of cryogenic pump componentsFit, align, and adjust all components, including bearings and seals, and units to close tolerances andDocument all clearances on assembly clearance data sheet for review and approval of engineeringCheck work to ensure conformance to specifications, instructions, and customer requirements on all drawings and work instructions per standard operating proceduresPerform troubleshooting as neededRework parts when necessaryContribute input to failure analysis when requestedMaintain tools, equipment. and work area in accordance with 5S principlesFollow all quality, engineering, sales, and safety proceduresMaintain consistent and regular attendance to meet production schedules.Provide technical guidance to customersCommunicate with customers regarding service evaluations and coordination of service-related issuesMeet customer and company production schedules at a rate of 80% on time or betterPerform all duties in accordance with OSHA standards and regulations and Comply with company safety policies and proceduresPromote Customer Focus throughout the companySupport QMS requirements in areas of responsibility for conformance with international requirements and state and federal regulationsOther tasks as assigned.CompetenciesAbility to read prints and schematicsAnalytical skills for cryogenic pumps Brazing or welding skillsBalancing skills related to cryogenic pump repairAbility to operate a laser machineInspection skills on machineryKnowledge of basic AC/DC circuitryUnderstanding of materials of constructionUnderstanding of various system components (regulators, valves, solenoids, pressure relief devices, etc.)Microsoft Office skillsAbility to use smartphones, tablets, and handheld data entry devicesOrganizedInitiativeTeam playerCommunication skills - verbal, listening, interactionEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent.2-5 years of experience in shop environmentInstallation, maintenance, repair of mechanical and electrical systems experience preferredMachining experience preferredWelder certifications preferredRefrigeration/HVAC or cryogenic experience preferredDrivers’ license preferredEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Nikkiso CE&IG is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
