Specifically, theShipping andInventory Clerkis responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: assisting in a varietyof warehouse duties,including shipping and receiving, building pallets/crates and packaging materials for shipping, monitoring and maintaining inventory;preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting).Other responsibilities:Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of suppliesPackage, secure and load productTrack and prepare documents for product while monitoring database activity for inventoryCommunicate effectively with vendors when necessary, both verbally and in writing.Maintains dock and storage facilities in an organized manner; receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; restocks items as necessary; labels shelvesMaintains all necessary associated documentation to support shipping and inventory activityFollows all plant safetyguidelines;practices and procedures. Must be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work areaProperly use personal protective equipment when requiredPositions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurementsSupportsalldepartments with inventory needsPerform other tasks as assignedPrior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.Blueprint reading knowledgepreferredMust have basiccomputerskills(primarily Microsoft Excel)Must have basic measurement and math skills; must have knowledge of basic hand tools and measuring instrumentsForklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)SAP experience desirableMust be able to pass a background check andpre employmentdrug testTeam player - must be able to work with othersand/or aloneMust have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goalsAttentive to detail watching for material defects,quality issues, inventory levelsPhysically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling,reachingand twisting throughout shiftCapable of repetitively lifting25-50 lbs.Must maintain regular attendance - have reliable transportationCandidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidaysWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee works in typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.Normally clean work environment where the process creates somegrinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors,andvibration.Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.The noise level in the work environmentis normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools."¯ Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool.
