Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Benefit Eligible Yes Screening Date 2024-07-23 Job Description Summary The Division of Student Life at Miami University is seeking a new Associate Dean of Students who will be responsible for the daily affairs within the Office of the Dean of Students. Job Description The Associate Dean will be a visible and accessible campus leader who reports to the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students (AVP/DOS). The Associate Dean of Students will represent the Office of the Dean of Students at campus events when needed and serve in an on-call duty rotation. The Associate Dean of Students will serve a vital leadership role in supporting the strategic direction of the Office of the Dean of Students. They will provide support and resources to Miami students experiencing crises or issues of well-being. They will work collaboratively with all segments of the university community through education, consultation, advisement, and referrals on issues impacting student success. Lastly, the Associate Dean of Students is responsible for assisting the AVP/DOS in administering the day-to-day affairs of the Office of the Dean of Students and will serve in the Dean's stead when needed. Essential Duties: Chair the university Care Team. Serve on call and respond to crisis situations according to organizational protocol, including evening and weekend work as required. Provide oversight and management for all Care Team cases. Assess student needs, in collaboration with the staff of the Office of the Dean of Students and key campus partners, and refer to university or community services as appropriate. Serve as the AVP/DOS 'Chief of Staff'; coordinate outreach, student success, assessment, and training efforts, with the support of the three Assistant Deans of Students. Develop, lead, and supervise three Assistant Deans of Students. Oversee the student medical withdrawal process. Develop and implement training and consultative initiatives for faculty and staff regarding support for and response to students of concern and Care Team referrals. Stay current on Title IX rules and policy and serve as backup to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for students in their absence. Generate case management data through reporting tools; evaluate and assess accordingly. Serve on divisional and institutional committees as assigned by the AVP/DOS. Be a visible representative for the Office of the Dean of Students at campus events and build positive relationships with students. Maintain active participation and engagement in relevant student affairs professional associations. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
