Environmental and Remediation Ambassador - JR2420587 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Environmental and Remediation Ambassador, you will be responsible for promoting a variety of aspects within the Environmental Affairs function and EHS sub-functions. You will manage, support and/or facilitate technical and governance projects with support of regional or global teams in a wide range of remediation, environmental compliance, sustainability, acquisitions/divestitures and management system projects/tasks. These will assist regions to achieve compliance with the organization's EHS standards, stakeholder expectations and environmental stewardship benefits. You will also be responsible for effective leadership and project management for small to midsize legacy and multiparty remediation sites and internal programs (i.e. spill elimination, waste management). Based at PPG's Monroeville, PA office, you will spend approximately 30% of time will be in the field. You will report directly to the Director of Environmental Affairs and you will have close contact with corporate, regional and facility staff, along with outside vendors. Key Responsibilities Support Global Environmental Requirements related to PPG's EHS Management System. Manage PPG's spill elimination program. Lead training programs for environmental requirements and guidance documents. Oversee and support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and supporting facility expansions and divesture projects. Manage PPG Discontinued Operations remediation program for a facility located in Ohio. Support the various sites and operational functions on waste reduction initiatives to support PPG 2030 Sustainability goals; Assist regions on occasion with environmental compliance initiatives. Lead volunteer initiatives associated with site Environmental Biodiversity and Wildlife Habitat. Provide leadership and direction for procurement and management of consultants and/or contractors to cost-effectively complete remediation projects under CERCLA and RCRA. Provide recommendations for provision of appropriate financial reserves to cover anticipated costs of future remediation. Communicate with governmental agencies to determine requirements for remediation projects. Communicating with the public as necessary regarding PPG's involvement at waste sites and managing projects to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in an EHS, engineering or science field, or a related field. 10+ years of experience and relevant certifications. Knowledge of and experience with federal laws and regulatory requirements governing environmental remediation (CERCLA, RCRA). Knowledge of US regulatory requirements and ability to navigate other jurisdictional requirements. Understanding of ESG programs and emerging regulations (e.g. PFAS) of regulatory interest. Ability to interface and connect with cross-functional teams at all levels of a project; Willingness to work in a team environment and establish harmonious working relationships with superiors, colleagues and clients. Critical thinking skills and ability to develop effective solutions in a fast-paced, consulting environment. Ability to create guidance documents and train regarding content and expectations. Continued professional growth and development by participating in professional societies and maintaining/obtaining professional certifications.
