This job was posted by : For more information, please see: Overview The Staff Attorney is responsible for a range of legal advice and services to the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and staff of the Department of Economic Development. The areas of focus are primarily the federal ARPA and general fund programs that are being utilized including, but not limited to, the following: Capital Investment Program, Community Recovery and Revitalization, Flood Recovery ( BEGAP), Brownfields, Rural Industrial Development Fund, Technology based Economic Development , and the Cannabis Social Equity Business Development Fund. Work will include contract negotiations and grants management which will include reviewing, drafting agreements and processes required to administer and comply with state and federal programs and regulations including those from the U.S. Treasury, and communications with sub recipients regarding post award or post audit follow up. The position must remain current on State policies and procedures for grants and contracts, and must ensure departmental compliance with state and federal regulations including, but not limited to ARPA, EPA, amongst others.The position will assist with interpretation of legislation; both as it is being formulated as well as after its passage. The Staff Attorney position is an exempt full-time position. Salary offered for this position is commensurate with the applicants background and experience in accordance with theState of Vermont Attorney Pay Plan.
