Responsibilities MTSI is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to work in a growing data environment in support of digital transformations efforts for our AFRL customer in Dayton, OH. You will have the opportunity to influence, design, and implement systems to streamline data discovery, processing, storage, and security. You will assist in the identification and assessment of systems and software necessary to support the governance and management of data in on-premise and cloud environments, and you will develop data pipelines to collect, tag, curate, and manage data from a variety of sources in support of research efforts. Additionally, as the Data Engineer, you will work with data owners and stewards to understand the data architecture needed to support evolving digital engineering and transformation requirements. This position is well suited to those who enjoy problem solving in evolving environments. Design of data models and architecture for data processing and storage. Identification and configuration of data architecture software components to support process improvements (i.e. automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, etc.) Data analysis and design of data pipelines for the ingest, transformation, enhancement, and tagging of data and information assets. Support data integration and interoperability efforts between research, and modeling and simulation applications. Work with stakeholders, users, and data stewards to understand and document business and data requirements. Ability to communicate complex solutions to technical and non-technical employees Self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility. Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience.
