Summary The purpose of this job is to work with DS teams to assess, select, negotiate and execute contracts. Performs financial reconciliation and negotiation of Vendor contracts prior to study termination and contract closure. Manages all aspects of sourcing and negotiating Vendor contracts to ensure that the contracts are cost effective. Provides oversight of Vendor contracts, change orders and works with the Vendor for resolution of all issues/ discrepancies. Responsibilities: Proactively seeks to become an expert in complex outsourcing models supporting Clinical RD and PH.1 to PH. IV outsourced services (e.g., CRO, Biomarker, CDx, Clinical Supplies, central labs); Must have strong problem-solving skills and is able to work in complex categories. Assist in the development and implementation of new processes, procedures and/or systems to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls. Communication and Relationship Management - Leads contract related communication with vendors. Respond to questions from internal staff regarding status of contracts. Interacts with vendors on standard administrative matters and contract terms. Appropriately escalates issues and conflicts. This position will work cross-functionally to execute the outsourcing process. Responsible for appropriate utilization and application of advanced negotiation skills, partnership management and strong interpersonal skills to support and advance objectives. Contract Execution- Builds content of the contract, verifies the unitized budget against the needs, conducts rigorous negotiation of terms with validation of rates from service providers. Making sure the payment schedules are cash neutral and in-line with deliverable timelines. Responsible for the negotiation, preparation, and execution of master agreements on a timely basis. Management and oversight of Clinical Development contracting process, review and approval in accordance with company policies. Procurement - Manages all Outsourcing activities from vendor assessment, RFP, selection, contract budget, payment schedule scope negotiation thru to contract execution. Supports internal customers to help ensure that vendors meet required service level. Demonstrates expanded understanding of procurement principles, legal language, vendor selection criteria. Assist with the development of a sourcing strategy by spend category that reduces costs, reduces timelines and improves quality. Coaches and mentors' colleagues on the outsourcing process and procedures. (not a formal people manager). Develops detailed bid analysis for the RD functional group's review. Development and management of other ad hoc special projects as they arise. Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation. Education Qualifications: (from an accredited college or university) Bachelor's Degree preferably in Life Sciences required Experience Qualifications 4 or More Years in clinical trial outsourcing, health sciences or related field (clinical trials) required. Advanced WORD and Excel skills preferred. Excellent time management skills preferred. Experience with PH.1 - PH. IV clinical trial vendor contracts required. Experience with CRO contracts preferred. Demonstrated ability to leverage digital data and analytics preferred. Demonstrated ability driving or participating in digital transformation initiatives preferred.
