DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with program management and other stakeholders including NYCT staff and Department of Homeless Services on reviewing and managing homeless outreach conditions at the 472 subway stations. This position with work closely with the Assistant Director of Operations and the Program Director to monitor station visits, program redeployment and resource management. This will include developing monthly, weekly, and daily schedules for the outreach teams, attending and presenting at stakeholder meetings, and conducting field visits. Additionally will conduct quality assurance reviews of outreach teams, program visit logs, and assist with training staff as needed. Related duties as assigned. HOURS: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday; 9:00a - 5:30p QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS is preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required. At least one year of experience working with homeless individuals is preferred. Basic understanding of ACCESS or other databases preferred. Must be able to produce reports on short deadlines and work as part of a fast paced team. CPR training certification or willingness to take training in CPR. Related duties as assigned. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Jointly funded by the Department of Homeless Services and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, BRC's Transit Homeless Outreach staff members operate throughout the transit system 24 hours a day. Through this program, which BRC has operated since 2005 and significantly expanded in 2014, BRC provides outreach and case management services to humanely assist homeless individuals to permanently relocate from MTA properties. The program serves the New York City metropolitan area, including the boroughs of Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Clients of Transit Homeless Outreach are engaged and assessed with the goal of connecting them with housing and essential services.
